This project is one I'm particularly proud of. The site offered expansive views of Central Kentucky's rolling hills and the tranquility of the Kentucky River — elements I worked to capture in every aspect of the layout and orientation.
The design draws from Kentucky's tobacco farming vernacular while pushing toward a contemporary sensibility. The client's program included a walkout basement, high wind protection requirements, and ambitious energy performance goals — all of which led to the use of Insulated Concrete Form (ICF) construction, a method that delivers exceptional structural integrity and thermal performance.
The result is a home that belongs to its landscape, performs exceptionally well, and feels modern without abandoning its regional roots.
